About Learnability
At Learnability, we believe that an ordinary day holds extraordinary possibilities. That belief didn’t come from theory, policy, legislation, or funding models, it came from kitchens at dawn, from quiet car rides to work, from parents sitting awake at night wondering what would happen when they could no longer be there for their adult children with disabilities.
Our Story
Learnability began as "The Learnability Network" in 2020, not as a business but as a private foundation: a promise. A promise made between parents, advocates, and professionals who had seen too much fragmentation in services and felt too much fear. The fear of systems that changed without warning. Fear of services that didn’t see the whole person. And the deepest fear of all: Who will care for my child when I can’t?
In those early days, we listened more than we spoke. We listened to parents who had spent decades coordinating care, advocating in meetings, managing crises, celebrating tiny victories no one else saw. Parents who loved fiercely but knew they couldn’t do it alone, and they were exhausted. Parents who didn’t want perfection but wanted peace of mind. They wanted to know that their adult children would wake up safe, supported, and understood even after they were gone.
As time passed, it became clear that advocacy alone was not enough.
Families didn’t just need guidance, they needed infrastructure, they needed continuity, they needed a system built with the same care, patience, and devotion they themselves had given for years.
So in 2024 Learnability evolved.
Becoming a 245D-licensed provider wasn’t about growth, it was about responsibility and fulfilling a need. It was about building something sturdy enough to last beyond any one person, family, or moment in time. We wanted to create a model where care didn’t depend on luck, heroics, or burnout but on thoughtful design, skilled staff, and values that never waver. At Learnability progress isn’t measured only in plans or outcomes, it’s found in the warmth of a familiar morning routine, in the pride of a paycheck earned, or in the relief of being truly heard and knowing a village is there for you and yours.
Our services are intentionally woven into daily life because life itself is the curriculum. Home, work, and community aren’t separate destinations, they are connected threads forming the fabric of belonging.
We don’t replace families, we honor them.
We carry forward what parents have built, protecting dignity, safety, and joy. Services not just for today, but for decades to come. We believe adults with disabilities deserve lives that are rich, predictable, and full of choice. And we believe parents deserve to rest, knowing that the love they poured into their children has been met with a system strong enough to hold it.
Learnability exists for the day when parents can finally exhale.
Because an ordinary day (done with care) can be extraordinary.
